Stampin' Up! News

Stampin' Up! released a new Independent Demonstrator Agreement (IDA) yesterday which has some of their demonstrators abuzz. The IDA restricts their professional and personal endorsement, including via all electronic media, of products that compete with their own. This poses some trouble for SU! consultants who work on design teams and/or who blog, either professionally or personally, and list or mention other stamping/papercrafting blogs, companies or products. Demonstrators have until the end of September to either re-sign their contract or resign as a SU! independent contractor. Wow!

While SU!'s apparent intent is to bring their non-compete agreement in line with modern technology, it seems pretty tyrannical. That's one of the things I like about
Memory Works: They seem to be in it for the joy. They distribute lots of different brand products and don't require non-compete agreements. Consultants can join Memory Works to grow a business or to enjoy the discount personally.

If you want to read more about Stampin' Up!'s new IDA and some of the reaction to it, go here on Craft Critique's site. They have a good overview of the issues, the text of the controversial parts of the new IDA, and links to the IDA in its entirety. Plus Craft Critique is a great place to learn about new and different crafty products. Love them!

Coupons for This Week

Here are this week's coupons. School starts this week, so I'm hoping to add more interesting things to this site than just boring ol' coupons. But in the meantime, here are some money-saving opportunities for you. Slip a little something for yourself into the cart while you're doing the back-to-school shopping. Remember - each of these places generally accepts the others' coupons, so bring 'em all with you!
