Shout Out

I want to give a big shout out to the ladies who came to the crop last weekend. Thanks so much for coming! I had fun and hope you did too. I think we can all say we learned something. Specifically, you can put your "emergency bra" in a bag near the front door and UPS men can be a spontaneous booty call unto themselves. Who'da thunk it? Intrigued...? Maybe you should come to next month's crop! You never know what you're going to learn!!

Here's a picture of the card we made and the sun make & take, made with the Creative Memories paisley punch. (Contact Cindy for great CM stuff!)

Christmas Chipboard Book

Ok, you have to go check this out RIGHT NOW. This Christmas chipboard book is the cutest! I'm going to learn how to make chipboard books with my beloved Cricut. Maybe then I'll do a class. Anyone interested?

Head on over to the Bug Junkie's blog to see what I'm raving about:

Happy Shopping Day to Me!

I went shopping today and got some really exciting things!! I had a generous gift card to Joann's that someone had given me to thank me for helping her family make an album for their parents' 50th wedding anniversary (holy moly - 50 years!!!) and it's been burning a hole in my pocket. I used that card to lure me to Milford so I would have no excuse for skipping the gym again. It worked. While working out, I pondered all the fabulous things I will make with my new fun finds. And here they are...

The biggest purchase was the new Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. SO CUTE! And SO many things on it! I debated over this one and the new From My Kitchen and Winter Woodland cartridges. I'm glad this one won. I can hardly contain myself. I can't wait to play with it! When I got home, I checked to see if I won the Great Gypsy Escape and sadly, I didn't. (I'm not sure how I feel about the Gypsy, but that's a post for another day.) But I got another 90 reward points!

Joann's honored this week's Mike's $39.99 price on cartridges. Yippee! Note that you need to have the Mike's ad in hand. Not to worry - you can find it here.

Before I even went into the store, I found these Fiskars squeeze punches on clearance outside. $6.97 a piece, regularly $12.99. Joann's website has them listed as on sale for $9.09, but I got 'em for $6.97 and I snagged the last two:
Awwww, so cute! I almost didn't see them as they were next to some Sizzix stuff and I don't have one of those. (Did you hear that everyone?? There is something related to scrapbooking that I DON'T HAVE! Why don't I have Sizzix? 'Cause I have a Cricut and I personally think the Cricut is WAY better than sliced bread or bottled beer, let alone Sizzix. But I digress.) Anyway, these are my first two squeeze punches and they are super easy to use. How easy are they? So easy peasy that you can use them if you have carpal tunnel or recently had the surgery for carpal tunnel. (I speak from experience.) Smooth as butter. Something I really like about the squeeze punch design is that the cutting mechanism is oriented such that you can see the image being punched without having to flip the punch over. I always flip my punches so I can see where I'm punching, but they are then awkward to hold and harder to punch. Way to go Fiskars! I heartily approve of this design and I'm sorry I'm so slow jumping on this bandwagon.

(By the way, I'm Fiskateer #6023. Some one of these days, I'm going to figure out what all the hoo-rah is about being a Fiskateer. All for one and one for all!)

The last of my shopping isn't quite as exciting. A few acrylic stamp sets, including 2 alpha sets to add to my crop door prizes, some jewels (cause what girly pages can't use a little bling?) and some Zots, which are great for raising stuff off the page a little. Plus they are SUPER sticky! I might stick a couple on the wall under a couple of frames that just don't hang quite straight, but then I might never get those pictures off the wall. Seriously, you can't be afraid of commitment if you use Zots. Here are some more pictures.
The jewels I got were just like this but assorted sizes and 200 or so pieces. Maddy's going to love them. As I stood at the jewel display, I wondered why I don't have a Bedazzler. I need one of those. Maddy would be beside herself if we could Bedazzle things. Ever seen that movie The Game Plan with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson? The little girl in it Bedazzles his prize football and anything else that isn't nailed down. That's how Maddy (and I) would be if we had one. It would be too fun.
I also used my 50% off coupon from Mike's at Joann's. Love that! Gift cards make shopping super fun and I was especially savvy today with the advertised prices and coupons and whatnot, so my card went even further. Yay!
Lastly, while I was waiting in the checkout line, I noticed that they had the Cricut Mickey font cartridge on clearance. I can't remember if it was $14.99 or $24.99, but either way, it was a good price and not the $74.99 sale price currently advertised on the Joann website. So if you want one, you'd better hurry! I didn't get one because I have some Disney fonts downloaded for SCAL use - and they were FREE!
